Life has been a little hectic the past few weeks, so I apologize for those of you who have written in and have yet to get a response - I’M COMING! I PROMISE!
Being that there is such a wide array of information about children on the spectrum (how to diagnose it, how to treat it, etc.) I try my best to educate myself with an open mind. The hard truth is that there is no “one” answer, there is no “cure” however, there are plenty of studies/success stories that give me hope.
Recently I’ve been reading a lot about diet change and the positive effects it can have for children on the spectrum. I know that there are many findings I want to hear from you guys!
- What’s worked?
- What hasn’t worked?
- What have you tried?
- What are the struggles?
I found a lot of information on the pros of eliminating casein and gluten and am super interested on learning more. I always like to point out that I am NOT a doctor. I’m not saying to do this with your child - but it definitely is interesting information. We changed all the foods in my house recently because I am curious as to how Greyson will react. In my opinion, a diet change that can potentially benefit your child in such a positive way is DEFINITELY worth a shot trying.
I’d love to hear from those of you who have found success in a diet like this, perhaps are in the process of trying, or tried and failed - I’LL HEAR IT ALL.
